718 tailight up grade

Hi : just bought the 718 taillight upgrade package for the 1999 Boxster. I removed old style taillights and I noticed that the new style does not have the foam gasket around the perimeter. Just questioning if anyone has had any leaking issues with the new style because of the lack of the foam gasket , thank you,

Garage
How about getting new ones (or use the old ones)? Mine came with new gaskets.

Strongly recommend to using a gasket. The last thing you want is a surprise amount of water sloshing around so close to the DME

Yes I’m concerned a bit . However mfg does not recommend and the original tailights gasket does not fit without a lot of trimming. You tube installers quote no issues as well.
