Engine problem

I believe I have a serious engine problem. It runs, has power, but I believe even after changing oil cooler oil is still getting into coolant. Hard to tell if it’s residual oil from before or not. I’m inclined to think the cylinder or head has a crack.

I would like to fix the car because I like it and have spent a lot of time and money so far.

Has anyone else experienced and/or fixed this problem?

I assume I need to drop the engine, inspect, likely remove head and have it welded. Put engine back in.

Experiences, thoughts, caveats?

I'd suggest performing a coolant system pressure test.

Then I'd perform a compression and leak down test.

Those tests will probably tell you all you need to know.

Remove the coolant reservoir cap and see of there is mayonnaise on the inside of it.

Yes, there is the intermix problem in coolant. I’ve tried to drain this stuff out many times. I tried shout, red devil, hot water. It doesn’t want to come out. But I also did all this with basic Jack in the street. I couldn’t remove each hose and clean them properly.

Tomorrow I’m taking the car to a diy garage where I can put the car on a lift and remove hoses to see if I can get it more out.

It’s possible that Do have cracked cylinder/head but I don’t know. I’ll be able to do leakdown and other tests tomorrow to know more.

The car runs very well but I’m just not sure.
