Little mod for stock dinky shift knob
 

I did this in hopes that when i finally get to showing my GF how to drive the boxster, that she doesnt miss a shift or not know the direction of the next shift and placement of the gears. Looks pretty awesome.

Think I'm going to re-paint the "R" for reverse in red.


Also, i hit 100000 Miles in my boster on friday nite...she drove like a champ the entire day yesterday and today. I never had the chance to ever get to see my own car reach 100000 miles so it meant alot to me...i also have a picture on my GF's cell of it finally on 100,000 miles.

Nice job. Looks professional, did you use a template? Makes me want to paint my knob in some blue anodized paint (by dupli color). I have an aftermarket knob though so its an aluminum ichi-bahn. I personaly like it without the pattern... unless its a 6 speed, then I'd want to show off. lol

Thanks, no i didnt use a template, what i did was i used white model car paint, then used a brush to paint within the reverse embossed numbers that are already present on the knob, then after its completely dry as a bone, i used a very fine grit sandpaper to sand off any excess paint that I got outside the numbers...pretty much error proof, After Im done with the sanding and im satisfied, I get some armor-all and re-moisterize the surface to bring back the gloss that you lose from sanding it... I think it looks better than stock now that i've done that.

Wow! 100,000 miles? Might be the highest milleage boxsters around... on original engine? Congratulations.

Yeah its original miles engine...If you keep up on the oil changes with good oil and try not to bounce off the rev limiter while never bogging down the engien at low rpms... i think all boxster engines should last this long. I have about 100220 miles now.
