Maybe the Cheapest Replacement Parts on a Boxster vs OEM Porsche.

Hood and Trunk Struts $20-$30 Delivered for both sets.
or Porsche OEM
$34.25 x 2 Front
$68.25 x 2 Rear
$205 vs $30

What else is cheap? Any other examples?

I have used the cheap replacements and they worked great! Haven’t found any others significantly worth the difference other than ATF or other fluids.

Just a note: There's a huge difference between cheap and inexpensive.

I replaced the front struts a couple weeks ago. I didn't know that right near fully raised the struts actually lift the frunk the rest of the way.

Edit: Brain fart yesterday. Giving further consideration to your comment (Cheapest part) those probably are the lowest priced part on the car. I challenge anyone to reveal a less expensive part, with the exception of fasteners.

URO Parts 4A0905849B Ignition Switch - $10.34 on Amazon

The oil drain plug crush washers cost even less.

URO? Yup, that's a cheap part. One thing I've learned upon this forum is when it comes to that ignition switch... URO is not the route take. You can't beat $10.34 but... buy cheap, buy twicw and, given the relative difficulty to access that component, I'd be going OEM. Once and done, for the most part. No pun intended.

Ditto this/ I was waiting for a quality ignition switch to arrive by mail so I bought another one from a NAPA Auto Parts store and installed that one, figuring I would have the other one as a spare. Well, the NAPA one was a cheap one and made of very brittle plastic. It lasted about 6 months, vs the original which had lasted for 12 -13 years.

On those cheap hood struts, some are good and some not so good. I bought some cheap ones for my son's Jeep Commander. They were a real pain to put on because they were just slightly longer than the originals. Once installed, they were fine but the get them in took some fighting and swearing.

Aftermarket vs Porsche OEM $31.25 Difference of $20.91 Hood and Trunk Struts difference of $175.00

Porsche oil drain plug washer $2.25. What is the difference $2.00?

The oil drain plug crush washers cost even less.
I know there are cheap (cost and quality) parts for Porsches that are not OEM.
I was also looking for more of the price difference between an OEM part vs what the aftermarket can offer. I think OEM radiators vs aftermarket are a big deal, but you are still talking big bucks.
The crush washer is certainly a great example of a cheap $ and maybe even better quality!!!

Oh! Without a doubt. Those radiators? Crazy $$?

I picked up a couple crush washers fron the local NAPA... ran me about $1.65 each. Needed them in a pinch. I have purchased the OEM... but yeah... $2.25? And it didn't even have a "P" on it.
