Boxster 986 Immo Fault Codes
 

Hi I recently purchased a '03 2.7 Boxster and I am having some trouble with the alarm system.

I have the following symptoms:
The key fob remote buttons don't work, the just blink once when you click a button
The alarm goes off after unlocking the car and opening the door, I can stop it from going off by turning the ignition on as soon as I open the door

I have two fault codes stored in the Immo:

54 - Radio Receiver Defective

60 - Central Locking Limit Position Not Reached

I can clear both codes but they return after one lock cycle.
I get no honks when I lock the car but if I leave the hood open it honks once when I lock the car.

When I research code 54 I am told to replace the immo module is there any way to avoid this and fix my existing parts? Can the immo module and key fob be fixed at the same time?
