Battery charger/maintainer/power supply
Hello everyone,
I want to buy a battery charger with power supply mode to be able flash ECU, maintain battery or replace battery. Looking on Amazon and some other places, I found OTC-700A which can charge/supply up to 70A or Noco G7200 that can charge at 7A and supply only 5A. Price difference is huge. OTC for CAD650 or Noco for CAD120. First is professional for industrial use and Noco is suggested for normal home garage use. Any suggestions? Thanks! |
I have the NOCO and like it. I think mine is rated at 4A charging and adapts to SLA, AGM, and Li batteries. As a smart charger/maintainer it helps to keep the battery healthy.
A70A charger is only needed if you want a backup way to start the car with a dead battery. Complete overkill for basic charger/maintainer. |

@Starter986, We don't have HF in Canada, but I got your idea. Thanks!

@Topless,
Will the typical charger/maintainer like Noco work for ECU flash? It seems that car need to have a constant 13.8 for flashing. |

I just purchased a NOCO Genius 1 and really like it. It's currently under $30 USD on Amazon right now and has separate modes for standard, AGM, and lithium batteries. YMMV.
