Transport

I have been looking around at various companies for enclosed transport from Venice Fla. to Long Island, NY. 987.2 Boxster. Any recommendations? Thanks all. I never shipped a car before.

You don't usually get to deal directly with the transport companies. You're almost ALWAYS dealing with a broker.
That said, I've used Jay at Imoveauto (dot com) many times. Never a hitch.

I've shipped several cars using various brokers. They can all get you the same deal. Just don't let them change the agreement; hold their feet to the fire to get the original quote that they promised.

No pun intended?

I've never used a shipping company. But my friends and I have toyed with the idea of both moving cars to and from Australia. ROROs (roll on roll off) are the way to go in Charleston. I imagine there are some ports in Florida that have ships going from there to New York.

But as previously mentioned you are probably going to have to deal with a broker.

Look at USHIP.

I had a trailer moved from the Midwest to CA and I was very happy with the service. Basically people that do transport list themselves and you get bids for your particular needs
It can be as anything from someone driving the car to a simple trailer to an enclosed transport

Reliable is good, Pilot transport etc.

One of the big auctions ended recently in south FL There could be a truck coming your way with a vacant spot.

Really important to be careful and do your homework. The well known big time haulers are no problem, but more expensive. But you may run across some of the smaller haulers who will be cheaper but can be very dubious. Check reviews and best if you can get a referral from a recent user. I honestly feel that you get what you pay for when shipping your car.
