Did I buy the correct brake pad hardware kit?
 

After reading and learning for several months I finally take the plunge with a first post!

I have a 2003 Boxster non-S and bought two 996 front brake hardware kits from Smith Motorworks to use for the front and rear calipers. The part number is 996.351.959.01. The price was really good -- $26/kit on Ebay (auction 200000001655). Can someone confirm if this is the correct part for the front and rear because they emailed to say it may not be right.

This weekend the Pagid blues go on. Hopefully I don't get stuck half way because this is my daily driver. It looks easy enough but time will tell.

I can't confirm...however if anything you can still put your new pads on and re-use the brake hardware. Be sure to lube the hell out of the hardware with the anti seize stuff, and don't be afraid to use the anti-squeel stuff on the backing of the pads.

Last thing...goto Sears and pick up a brake pad spreader. Tt looks like a metal backing pad with a twisty knob.

This will save you a **************** load of time and is worth the $9.99

I can concur with the brake pad spreader, but I used a ghetto method of pliers and the old brake pads, lol. I just put pliers in before I took the old pads out and spread it that way since the old pads are worthless anyway.

The part number is not correct. Price is great, but not for the wrong kit...

Hmm. I added the hardware kit to my "cart" on the Epiq Autosport website and the order page lists 99635195901s as the part number. 351 not 352.

Smith Motorworks gets 5-stars in my book. The offered to cancel the order since I bought the wrong hardware kit. Thanks for the help. I'll definitely hit up Sears for a pad spreader.
