best looking bumper for a 986?

Hi all,
I bought a 986 S with front end damage. the bumper is repairable but i was thinking of changing it to something more modern and aggressive looking. I saw this one in an old post and think it looks perfect.

Does anyone know what this bumper is and where I can get it?

If not, what front bumpers look best - fitment is really important as I dont want to buy some crap.
Thanks

That looks like an OEM 996 GT3 front bumper I have one on mine . The OEM part fits perfect but are pricey , I was lucky to find an as new used part they do come up from time to time . Here is a link to an aftermarket part , I have no affiliation with this vendor just showing one example of what is available . No clue if this vendors part fits great or is a nightmare to get correct unfortunately that is the chance you take with aftermarket parts . But with the quality of today's molding manufacturing my guess is it would fit good , again a guess . Good luck with your search .

Thanks for that. I have heard of Duraflex before so will check out some reviews on fitment. Looks just like the one in the pic and has a lip too.

I just replaced mine with OEM.Perfect fit.Bolt on.In my research the Duraflex are fibre and do need to be fitted by someone experienced with fibre. They look great but not bolt on perfect.

May I ask what you paid for your OEM? Where did you find it?

Suggestion: if you want the OEM part post a wanted to buy thread in the classifieds here , on Pelican and Rennlist . That's a lot of exposure and you only need one . You might get lucky and find one in your color which I did , worst case you have to have it painted . I haven't checked lately but last I knew the OEM 996 GT3 front bumper cover was around $1400.00 .

Great thanks for the tips! I think OEM is the way to go, not hearing good things about that Duraflex stuff.

Duraflex is 100% junk. They know their bumpers don't fit. Carid sells it and they know it wont fit. You'll be lucky if you can get a body shop to touch it. After trying to get a refund from Carid and Duraflex to no avail I threw it in the trash.

Wow that bad huh? I'm under the impression it might end up costing just as much as OEM with all the extra work the bodyshop needs to do.

I have a duraflex and it fit fine for me. I did have to adjust the front middle bracket by the latch though. I'd prefer a polyurethane but good luck finding one of those. My only real complaint about the duraflex is that it doesn't flex.

Do you have any pictures? Would like to see how a real Duraflex bumper looks like.

I went with this polyurethane bumper through Amazon. It takes a little tweaking on the upper corners but I didnt have a problem. Its hard to get used to how flexible it is but you will.
Now dont buy the splitter, very expensive and almost impossible to not scrape it. That said, if I had to do it over again I would buy a used 911 from bumper on Ebay. The mostly undamaged one are about the same price but thats just me. Good luck.

Woody do you have the GT3 Duraflex? If so any pics with it installed? Finding an OEM one is VERY difficult!

There's some in this thread, but you're not going to be able to see any difference from a picture on a computer screen. You notice the difference when you go to install it. I had to modify the side marker light area so that the light would slide into the front mount of the light. The slot was too thick for it to slide into. I also had to adjust the front top mounting bracket slightly. Both took 10 minutes.

I followed Jan's lead and went KBD. Made this install video so you can see exactly what you're getting and the process involved in installing it. Just got it back from my painter and it looks great!

If the info in the video helps you decide to buy one, please use the link in the description as I'll get a small kickback from Amazon
