Help us figure out the color of this hardtop! (986)

Hello everyone!

We have a blue hardtop from a 986 and since we don't have the matching car we are having a hard time determining which blue this top is, does anyone have some insight?

We originally thought it was Ocean Blue Metallic, but some other contenders are:

iris blue
dark blue
midnight blue metallic
etc..

There is definitely metallic in the paint.

Let us know what yall' think! And of course it is for sale (shameless plug).

That's tough. Here's Ocean Blue Metallic in similar light. Good luck - the blue metallic colors are hard.

Ocean Blue can look almost purple under certain light but so can some of the other blues (maybe that will help you rule it out?). The second picture makes me think it isn't Ocean Blue, even though it's probably the most common of the various blues. It's going be really hard to ID the color without putting it next to a real life paint sample.

Since it doesn't have "ears" it was likely made after 1998, if you want to compare it to when the different colors where available here: https://www.renntech.org/externalpaintcolors/boxster-986-external-paint-colors-r1/

EDIT: Just remembered this from a PCA email a while back, it could be very helpful: https://rennbow.org/colorwiki

$1450? You must be related to, or work for, Daniel Abdrew, Charlie Daniels, whateverthe**************** is his name.

What kind of offers? How low will you go on the price?
