1999 Boxter top not working
 

After having intermittent troubles with the top not working I purchased a spare control filter and modified it to bypass all three microswitches.




I soldered in a bypass wire to ground pin 14 and bent the pin over. Pin 15, which uses the latch microswitch signal is now bent to make contact with 14 so both are grounded. Pin 18 bypasss the speedo and pin 11 the power window control.
When the latch is open the windows won't drop automatically.
With this setup the dashboard switch now directly powers the convertible top without the need for microswitches.

Here's a photo of the modified relay. Remember that pin 15 has been internally grounded with a jumper wire.
