Yet another drain holes thread
 

Couple of things

I cleaned my plugs in March. Yesterday it was pouring hell for the whole evening, and the car was parked beyond my reach. I looked at the holes today and I saw that the passenger's side hole in the front boot was clogged and filled with water (LUCKILY NOT THE BRAKE SERVO SIDE!).

The drain holes design is a total disaster. Whoever engineered them should have been immediately fired. Hard to put the cleaning string in the hole, hard to push it (it goes at sharp angle below on the drivers side!).

So couple of questions:
1) has anyone used those bathroom sink drain cleaning fluids in those holes? is it safe for the tubing that goes from the hole to the underside of the car?

2) 987 owners, ahoy? Do you even have that goddamn issue at all? How do your drain holes look?

3) What I noticed is those rubber gaskets narrow the holes a lot. An ex Porsche engineer from Sofia suggested that I remove them. But I'll ask to double check - if you removed those gaskets, did any issues arise that were not obvious?

4) Am I right to assume that being parked nose up on an uphill effectively renders your car immune to any water getting to the drains at all? Or will I get water in the back drain collecting close to the roof top motor / brake signal repeater electronics?

Pro Tip: Use compressed air to blow all of the gunk out of the drain lines. Its quick and easy.

I'm looking at finding a long rubber seal to completely isolate this damn area from water that's obviously pouring from the top where there's nothing to stop it.

Third on the compressed air. Pretty much pointless trying to fish something down through the hole.
