CDR 220 display not working

Hi all, I'm hoping there might be a fix but.. The some lights on the display no longer work so when it displays something parts of a few letters no longer display. This makes it quite annoying when I hear a song and I want to know who and what it is. Is there a diy fix for this or do I have to get a new head unit?

First thing I would try is to remove the faceplate and gently clean the contact behind the face plate and on the radio with something like a cu-tips soaked in alcohol. While there, check if there is something that prevent a good contact like dirt dried coke or coffee ?

Another thing to try would be to disconnect the car battery for 5-10 minutes.

See if it helps !
