Ever seen this cable ?

When I bought the car 3 years ago this cable was in the trunk. Never bother trying to find the origin. I finally decided to ask.

This is a 6 feet long steel cable coated with plastic with hook on each ends.

Is this cable belong to the 986 ? If yes what it is used for ?

TIA

that cable is probably for locking a car cover or something like it. Not a Porsche part.

My car cover has a cable similar to that. It threads through grommets at the bottom of the cover under the doors, underneath the car and you can attach a small lock on one end to secure it.

I see tonythetiger beat me to it, good call
