Duel row bearing in a 02' 2.7 ??

I have heard a couple people say they have found a dual row IMS in a 2000' yr boxster 2.7,..if that is the case could you install a 99' model yr Bearing in a 02' using the snap ring process or is it likely they have a single row with a spacer and not the true double row bearing. just curious if its possible,..Thanks

The 2002 engines were all single row IMS bearings without any spacer; the IMS shafts are different between the single and dual rows. You cannot put a factory dual row bearing into a single row shaft.
