Soft top protection?

Hi all, my softtop has a couple of light tears in the top layer, and has some parts of elsewhere on it which look like they are wearing. Is there any product out there which you lot use which I can use to either protect the areas which seem to be getting wear, and/or protect the torn bits. I'd take a photo but i'm away from my porsche until friday.

thanks

Yesterday I was out vacuuming my top... and noticed the scuff areas, near the back sides. That's normal from the up-down folding/unfolding and, because of the narrow clearances inside, there's not much getting around it.

The light tears. Do they require sewing? Adhesive? Can you post pic(s)?

Yeah, I have light scuffing too, along where it folds onto itself. It would be nice if there's a way to protect it.

How about those iron on patch’s our moms used to put on the knees of our jeans back in the 70s. Remember those? I bet that would work.

Local shop told me taking a soft, thin towel and laying it in the creases when retracting the top (where the rub marks are) would prevent the top from scuffing itself whilst folded.

I've been driving soft tops for over 20 years now and have tried several products to keep the fabric looking good and improve the longevity. The only product I've found guaranteed to restore good looks: new top about every five years.

Does it come in a bottle or is it a spray?

I wouldn't be terribly concerned... but I'd attend to those scuffs.

My top has a couple of similar, although not as pronounced, scuffs... but on the top... not the sides near the rear. I put a few drops of super glue on the affected areas... dries... invisible. The "mark" (scuff/tear) appearance remains... but I believe it mitigates further erosion.

Your's look like they won't get any better... I'd move on it.
