Do you recognize this connection?

I started looking into installing rear speakers into my boxster 2004 (HiFi system, speakers in front and doors) and found this connector on the driver side (picture 1); at first I thought it was the connector for the rear defroster but the I founded connected already (picture 2).

I searched the internet, forum and other forums, I also “tried” (emphasis on trying!) to read the convertible top electric diagram but couldn’t find out what it is, do anybody know what it is supposed to be connected to? Thanks in advance

I would suspect that this is for the rear defroster for the hard top option. I have not been able to confirm this either but perhaps someone with a hard top can give you more info.

Thanks 03Boxster; it makes sense, both connectors look similar.

It's not going to defrost much with only one pin in the connector. What color is the wire coming out of the bottom?

The defrost connector is the one circled in your second picture.

That's the quick-connect for the aftermarket flux-capacitor.

Part number for the flux-capacitor? How about the time controller for the dash? I need to do some time travel.

It's not for the hardtop rear defroster. When the hardtop is installed, the soft top rear defroster gets unplugged and the hardtop rear defroster gets plugged in in its place. I don't think you would want the rear defroster warming up the soft top window at the same time the rear window of the hardtop is drawing juice and getting defrosted. Sorry, I don't know what that jack is for, I haven't seen it on my 03.
