Does the CDR-220 play CD-RW discs?
Good morning all,
I currently have a CR-220 (cassette) and CD changer. I'm thinking about buying a used CDR-220 and adding a 3.5mm AUX input for a phone/ipod, etc. I'm curious if anyone has tried playing rewritable CDs in the CDR-220? The changer doesn't support them (I've tried), so I'm curious about the in-dash player and whether it does or not. Thanks in advance, Craig |
I have used CD-R's in the CDR-220.

Thanks, rick3000. Yes, the changer also plays CD-Rs, which is handy for burning custom discs for specific playlists, etc. However, it will not play CD-RWs, rewritable CDs. This is kind of a bummer if you want to modify the playlist -- you have to burn a new disc and throw the prior one away.
If it can play CD-RWs, that would be golden. Any luck with those? |
I never tried a CD-RW, and I stopped using CD's a while ago.
Also, I think the AUX input and the CD changer use the same input. Double check, but I don't think you can have both unless you add the AUX by another means like splicing into the antenna connection. |
