Back up motor
 
Have an opportunity to pick up a 2001 2.7 motor on the cheap. Any issues installing it into a 2000 model year?

Nope, don't tell your car & it will never know. That goes for 2000-2002 3.2 also

90% sure the wiring harness is different between the two. 50% sure the only difference is a wire for the water temp

The only thing that I'll mention is that the engine needs to be from a car with the same type of transmission. For example, if you bought an engine from a Tiptronic car and you want to install it in a manual transmission car, it can be done fairly easily but its not quite plug and play.

The SAI main hose is different.
