Sloppy Stick/Shifter
 

Only owned my car for two months. Today, out of the blue, the stick suddenly feels very sloppy -- can't find the slots to move it into a particular gear, can't find the neutral slot, can't find reverse, etc. If I keep trying and trying for 20 - 30 seconds, eventually I'll be able to catch it and get it into the gear I want.

The car had an excellent PPI by a Porsche dealer, and was also test driven by my local Porsche Indy shop, and both said tranny and clutch were fine. Clutch was replaced about 10,000 miles before I purchased the car.

I'm going to bring it in to my Porsche shop this week, but any thoughts on what this might sound like?

Check the ends of the shift cables where they attach to the transmission. There are clips that hold the cable to the transmission that can come undone and the sockets at the ends of the cables can also come loose. Either can create significant shifting issues.

Thank you, thstone. I'm not in a position to check that myself, but I'm sure the shop will. Sounds like something much more like that than a clutch/tran issue.
