I won't ever knock a good DIY project, but adding lights that large would appear to block a lot of airflow. If you do it, I am sure it will look great!

airflow apparently not a problem for the 987 or cayman. are you thinking the whole assembly or just the spar?

The airflow could be a problem using the whole assembly. I've got alot of trimming to do to that but I can find my hand router and using tin snips are killing my hands. It's just the beginning. I'd like to use the curved side and a lil of the top and bottom for stability.

I wish I did but know nothing about 3D printing. I know there are alot of smart people on this forum so anyone who knows about 3D printing. Would it be possible? How much would a printer cost that would be capable of making something like this? It's 16" long, 6" wide and 6 " deep and its pretty stiff bumper type rubber.
Thanks

I guess the question is (to me) how you get the shape into the software?
I've also no experience, but would like to.

software - 3d design. you can get programs or apps for devices. you basically draft in 3d. and you don't need the printer; you can upload the design file to a place like shapeways.com and they will print it and mail it to you.

This is without the factory collar, which I will use. It will work but only with the spar. I think I can use the factory slots, well the top ones. Painted I don't think it will look bad once I get the light in there.
Excuse the mess my work bench is a trash can. 😀

Wondering why you are swapping to an older design? The led strip you have now looks like the 992 led strip. And you are swapping it out for a 997 bulb fog light. It looks much better with the strip.

I'm just playing. Keeping myself occupied. This one will have a 3.5 round DRL fog light combination if it all comes together.

I really like the LED light strip too. They're not going anywhere 😉
