00-02 vs 03-04 radio din size

Well my radio replacement journey continues, I finally get ready to order my replacement radio (double din) from Crutchfield and they only offer single dins for 03-04. When I called them they said they do not have a fitment kit for 03-04 but do for 00-02. I plan on moving the HVAC to the lower slot, wouldn't the 00-02 kit fit my 03-04?

Well, I could install a double DIN Blaupunkt in my MY01 Boxster, but I had to cut the middle plastic bar and trim the sides a little. Very easy. Every radio has a metal frame to install them into...so no worries with a double DIN.

I moved back to a single DIN solution from PIONEER with perfect IOS connectivity and fitment in the lower console. IPHONE PLUS will be sitting in landscape mode in the upper console, as a car play solution.
