How to remove intake manifold Venturi tube 2003 Base
1 Attachment(s)
2003 Tiptronic Base
I am chasing an intermittent misfire on my 2003 base. I made a DIY smoke generator and did a smoke test on the intake system, and had smoke escaping in a couple of places. One was the connection of the intake manifold Venturi hose, to the intake hose that leads to the throttle body. I am trying to figure out how to remove this hose. Can anyone help me out, before I get frustrated and break something. Lol |
Picture of the item? Not sure what a Venturi hose is.

Hard to tell from pic, but usually vac lines like that require you to push the fitting together, pull a lip towards one end of the fitting, then pull the ends apart. Cant tell if this is the same type, but if so, it should come apart easily so dont go all he-man

you may want to try putting some silicon at the hose joint and that may solve the issue without removing anything..

Okay this is something I have not seen on Canadian/Euro cars. Can't tell you how that comes apart.
It must be a CA emissions or Tip thing. |

This one has nothing like that. I have tried pulling pretty hard, pushing in hard, and forcing apart, by inserting something between the two shoulders. Nothing. |

That's a standard barbed fitting. Try hitting the hose with a heat gun to warm it up until it comes off easily.

Pwave has got it you can see the ripples from the barbs as long as you don't view the forum with a mobile phone:D:D
You will surely have a leak there after though |
