986 maf housing honeycomb

I'm piecing together my custom intake and am stuck on what to do about the maf housing. Does the stock maf housing already have a honeycomb inside? I plan to saw off the maf from the stock airbox rout piping to the trapazoid scoop while making a trapazoid heat shield to block heat.

i'm considering buying one of these for the maf

I remember reading the 535i uses the same maf housing as the 986 but was unable to find any used for sale. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks.

I have a 986 sized MAF housing for sale if you are interested. It does not have a honeycomb entry. Never use it brand new from Evo IIRC.
