Replacement headlight seal/ gasket

This maybe common knowledge but I thought I share it anyway. My headlight seals/gaskets were old and deteriorated. Did some searching and wasn't finding much. Finally I came across an old thread on another forum and thought I'd try it. Here are the results

Good tip I'm sure there are a lot of old gooey gaskets out there in need of replacement . I was lucky to purchase a used set of OEM gaskets in perfect condition so for now I'm set .

Great info, for some reason Porsche does not sell the seals separately even though they have their own part number.

Thanks for this. You must be a mind reader, as I was looking at my messy old gaskets yesterday and wondering what to do with them!

LOL mine were OK but brittle and shrunk up. I replaced them with these. They look good IMO. I'll save the old ones.

I dunno.
I am needing the gasket / trim seal for the hood. Mine was all brittle and just flaked away. I can't locate that piece either. I guess mcmaster is a good place to start

Thanks for this. I ordered some and it arrives today. Gooey washers that are spreading black gunk and streaks are going away. Problem solved for $15.00. Now on to the next project....

Great, let me know how it works out. Make sure you clean the edge of the light where it will be sticking to. I forgot the first time
Also make the rubber a little longer than needed, then trim once its locked in. If any parts are sticking out from locking the headlight in they can be worked level will a thin piece of plastic edge or your finger. After it was clamped awhile it sticks pretty well incase you need to remove the light. Good luck.

this arrived at my house in under 24 hours, enough for both cars and under 25 bucks. Amazed.
