Instrument Cluster Face Swap?

I was the lucky recipient of an instrument cluster from an "S" model that has the snazzy silver ringed instruments. The donor cluster does not work, but was given to me for parts. Can I open up the cluster on my base and put the entire face (or front half) of the "S" one on my base one? I really like those snazzy silver rings, but the cost of buying them separately is pretty ridiculous. Are these two front halves of the instrument clusters interchangeable? Thanks -

Thanks, I will. I now have a number of projects lined up. But, the "SuperBloom" has been taking the large format camera and I out most weekends. It's quite spectacular! There's nothing quite like driving through the twistys with the top down and seeing all of the vibrant colors in the hills rush by. Hey, maybe these Porsche guys are on to something....
