Door Panel Project
This door panel is on an 09 S. I am dialing it in for sale next month. I am replacing the worn rubber coated part (997-555-351-03-A03). The part is either heat welded or maybe frequency welded to the door panel from the factory. I carefully used a drill and a dremel to remove the original. I am looking for suggestions on how to attach the new part. I have considered using, in no particular order.
1. my gun style soldering iron. 2. making a metal cup widget and heating it with a propane torch. 3. washers, cotter pins and some epoxy. 4. some kind of push on spring clip. I still need to determine how much clearance there is between the panel and the door. It is not much. Please take a look at the pictures and thanks in advance for any ideas. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1551049158.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1551049197.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1551049230.jpg |
I like your epoxy and cotter pin idea.

Thanks for the replies. I am going to start sourcing the spring clips and back them up with a dab of epoxy. Safe travels.
Mr Stone, are we going to see you in Fontana next month? |
