Front trunk hard to latch

EDIT: found this thread with detailed instructions by member 911monty - will try that first (Note that a google search of the site [site:www.986forums.com boxster how to adjust front truck] works much better than the site's built-in search)

Did a quick search of the site but didn't find what I am looking for - if I missed a relevant post feel free to redirect.

On my '98 base the front trunk is very hard to latch. I really have to put some "oomph" with my palms onto the lid to get the latch to catch. No mechanical interference or accident damage.

I imagine the "catch" mechanism may need to be raised slightly but before I go tearing into it, has anyone else had this problem and has any learnings they care to share?

TIA

You have to over come the rubber seal, so yeah, it takes a bit of a push. If you have to go full body weight, that’s a different story but a good solid push is normal. Btw when you close it push right on, or just below The Badge...

Garage
There are two adjustable rubber bumpers in the front. You can move them up and down by turning them. Adjust them so that the hood doesn't rattle and you don't make dents in the hood trying to push it close.
