P0455

A couple weeks ago I threw the P0455 code. Read the OBD2. Did some reading on the code and started from the bottom (least expensive) up.

The first thing I read was that it could be the gas cap. Now I had thrown the 1124 and 1126 codes a month or so back... and not being able to find (hear/see) any line/tube air leaks... replaced the gas cap.

That wasn't it so I replaced the AOS. All codes gone, not having returned.

So... as I was reading... in a couple posts when someone recommended replacing the gas cap... to go with OEM/Porsche... as aftermarket caps seemed to fail.

So... P0455. Fortunately I had saved my Porsche gas cap when I replaced it over the 1124/1126 codes. I reinstalled the Porsche cap... erased the code... have driven the car a couple/few cycles... and the code hasn't returned.

I'm coming to believe 100% in using for every engine/emissions related repair OEM/Porsche parts. For another $10 I could have purchased the OEM cap.

For sale: 1 Duralast Gas Cap. $1 + shipping.
