I think you made a good choice to leave the vents as-is (as-are?). If you decide to keep them, I’d still add the grill material behind the real vent openings. You can see the effect in the pic of my TechArts below.

My Porsche winter project this year is to add side skirts. This will be my second and final external update to my SE (the first being the urethane FVD “turbo look” side vents backed with CCG hexagon grill material). At first I really wanted the Caractere skirts, but I only found one pair in Poland and I decided the look would not integrate well with the otherwise stock bodywork anyway.

I ended up buying three pair to try. CSR, TechArt and Porsche Aerokit 1. I decided to go with the Porsche Aerokit 1 skirts. They are urethane, fit perfectly and they have an understated look that integrates well with the car (imho).

The least expensive I found them new is ~$1,200 for the set so I ended up buying a used set from porscheparts dot com. There’s a big problem regarding the top mounting flange with any used Aerokit 1s which I’ll cover in a separate build thread when I’m done with the install. Here’re pics of my test fittings of the three.
