Hi guys! Been a long time!

I still follow this forum and still like it a lot even though I have a 981 now for almost 5 years.
What I like most is that everybody helps so much with all questions. It makes it so much better or easier to own an old car which we all love.
Also, no BS which is so much appreciated in these days of the internets.
In here I learned so much about my old ‘04 S and modding it, so much fun!
So you good members, keep it going!

Have a great day and let’s share some good thoughts!

Later,
Andy

Glad you’re still enjoying your 981. :) How has the ownership experience been?

So now that you've had your 981 for a while, how do you like it? My understanding is it can be so advanced it's almost impossible to DIY many "normal" jobs. For example, the battery is connected differently and simply replacing the battery results in a CEL that must be cleared at the dealer? Stuff like that that eliminates the shade tree mechanic. Interested in learning as my Wheeler Dealer activities start moving in the 981 direction.

All good in the past years, only basic maintenance done by myself using Durametric. Car is driven year round and with winter tires even snow is fun.
Engine has a Softronic flash and different air filters and is as fast as our ‘04
Handling and sound are great, I’d say even better than the 986.
22,000 miles plus and no real problems. Build quality is up,there, only the door cards seem to be a problem on many 981. Warping on the top can happen in hot climates. Ours held up well.
Overall very happy and it looks like we have many more years to go.
Later,
Andy

Hello Andy,
Does your 981 have the PDK or manual transmission?
Regards, Gilles

Just sold my 2013 981 a few months back. I had a chance to buy back my 2003 Boxster I had sold 10 year ago.

Loved the 981, but I wasn't driving it enough to justify keeping it around.

I put a Fabspeed exhaust and short shift kit on the 03 and I am really loving it!

Gilles, we have the PDK.
