Brake light works - Tail lights don't
Grrrr.....
So after replacing some burnt out bulbs in my tail lights, I went to put the tail light bulb holder back into its spot. Only one problem - I did it with the lights still on so when I touched the metal connectors of the bulb holder to the metal edge of the car, the smallest bulb on the end blew out and now all I have is a brake light on the drivers side and no tail lights. A hard lesson to learn but now what? Replace the bulb holder? I checked the fuses that go to the brake and tail lights and they were all fine. I replaced the burnt out bulb with a new one and that didn't help either. I'm sure I shorted out the system somewhere although I don't know why the brake light would still work. Any help would be much appreciated! |
Is the side marker light illuminated when the lights are on. Had a similar problem a while back... fuses fine... bulbs fine... checked the sidemarker... wasn't illuminated... replaced the bulb... fixed it.

Hey Starter986!
Thanks so much for the advice. I did check the side light and it was out so I replaced it. Then, for no reason except to be certain, I check every single fuse and the side light fuse was also blown. So I replaced that and now everything is fine! :cheers:You called it right! Many thanks again. |
