Is there a way to test oil level sensor?

2000 S, dash gauge blinks and does not read, dipstick indicates oil level is fine?

Thanks in advance.

David

Garage
Are you checking prior to starting the car?
The reading is rather quick from that point, but once the car is started, the process is MUCH longer. (from seconds to minutes)
