check engine light

My check engine light is on. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the cause could be? Can someone tell me how to reset it?

You need to have the code read to see what it is. Make sure the gas cap is on tightly if you happened to just refuel. I did that just last week and got a CEL. Most auto parts stores can read the codes for you. Most code readers can also reset them, but you really want to see what it is first.

Gas Cap

I had actually lost my gas cap and drove the car for a few days without one. The check engine light has been on since. I purchased a new one at Canadian Tire. Thanks for your reply.
