Vroom....Crunch.....oh crap!

Due to the restricted backward visibility in these cars - I backed into the corner of a pallet of paint! My rear bumper WAS perfect, NOW look at it
When I got home I put some hot water on it and pressed it back out best I could. Still scratches and dent but not so much. I will leave it until I decide what to do.
Replace bumper of have it repaired - $1700 or $1200 (or $700 for cash) respectively.:ah:

I'd heard about the hot water trick before, but never tried it and I'll admit that I am quite shocked at the results! Granted it's not perfect, but it's heck of a lot better than it was...but I'm like you and the end result still isn't up to standards, but at least it's not a huge embarrassment to drive as it is now. Sorry and good job (words I don't think I've ever used in one sentence before, lol).

Sucks, but that is amazing at how well it returned. You might try some maquires scratch-x to help with some of the superficial scratches.

Be very thankful you didn't take out the tail light assembly or dent the fender. Hot water will not cure either of those if damaged.

I have used that trick before with success, though I used my wife's hair dryer (not too close)

I ended up ordering touch up paint off of Amazon, it's not perfect up close, but from 10-15 ft you can't really tell the difference.

It really is amazing how well popping out a dent like that works with some heat. Good work sir!

Color is Seal Grey.

There are still gouges in the plastic which will have to be filled and then re-spray.
I don't think heat will fix it where the plastic has stretched.
