Bosch brake pads

I need rear brake pads for my 2000 S. I noticed there is about a $45 difference between Bosch and Textar. Are Bosch not recommended for street. The only review I got was regarding the labeling of what car can use being wrong. There will be no track use.
Thanks.

DWBOX, Whichever brand you want to buy, I would choose the same compound for the front and rear axles.

No idea what the front pads are, just know they are in great shape. Previous owner bought.

Just a heads up - I have the factory Textar pads on my 2001 S and while I love how they stop, man o man, they put out brake dust like no other pads I have ever owned! Might be worth it to pull one of the fronts to take a look at what's on there so you can match the backs to them. Might not be able to match the brand, but you should be able to match the compound (ceramic, organic, etc). Again, I love my Textar's, but the dust!

Akebono

This is on my Boxster E36, My Boxster S and my wifes ALtima ...almost no dust at all and good stopping power

I would be hesitant to ceramic pads on the rear unless I was positive the fronts were the same. I put ceramics on 2 different Lexus to replace oe pads & the initial bite is much less.

The Akebono pads are great for a daily driver that is never tracked or driven hard on a mountain road. They are super easy to live with. Almost no dust. No noise. Last a long time.

BUT....If you are a hard driver, and want to really tear up a twisty road, you will not like them.

If you are just driving in a city and cruising down the highway, they are awesome.
