996 Turbo Wheels on a Boxster

Anyone have pictures? I beleive they are the same ones on a GT2,well they look the same. Some call then the "Turbo Look" or "Technology IIs" Does anyone know how wide they are? He said the fronts were 225/40ZR18 but doesnt know the rears off of the top of his head or the offset. If you know,do you know if I will need spacers? I have considered repairing the scratches in my wheels, but for this price I can have a whole new set with some tread left on the tires.

the real turbo wheels wont fit, it runs a 305 tire. The turbo look wheels probably will fit, since they arnt as wide.

They are the same design as the Turbos and GT2s but not as wide. I beleive that the tires sizes are 225/40zr18 and 285/40zr18. They are coming off of a 03' Carrera S. What I'm looking for is the offset, and wether or not they will fit on a 99' Boxster.

If they are factory, just call the dealership. If they are 18's they should fit, but I was told that the new 19's for the 987 wouldnt fit our older boxsters.

Ok here is the deal.
I just came back from viewing the wheels and trying to put them on. The rears are 11x18!!!!w/ a 45mm offset. Is it possible to get these to fit on my car? I was thinking an inch spacer with longer lug nuts. I'm starting to think that the cost & time to get these to fit aren't worth it. Anyone have pictures of there Boxster with 11x18s and an inch spacer just to see what it looks like?

Hi,

It isn't only about them fitting. Be careful going wider w/ spacers. You'll effectively widen the track and this can lead to tramlining and/or increased understeer.

I'm not saying to forget it, but just be very sure before you shell out major $$$...

These will NOT fit a boxster of any description - the 11inch wide rear runs a 45mm offset - Boxster rears should run 52mm. So the GT2 wheel will be 7mm further outboard to start with, and with a big tyre will definitely rub the wheelarch lip.

You need to find either Boxster Turbo Look II rims for direct fit (9 x 18,52mm offset) or the 996 version at 10inch wide (and 65mm offset) coupled to a 13mm spacer. With these you can use the 285/30 rear tyre without rubbing

However, also take note that 18 inch wheels should not be fitted to ANY boxster before MY98, as the rear suspension and cross members were strengthened to cope with 18s at the MY change.
