Brake Fluid Warning Light
 

Both the brake fluid warning light along with the PSM light are on. This occurred immediately after I disconnected the positive lead of the battery while installing a new amp for the stereo. Brake fluid is completely full, even slightly above the full line and has been that way for a year. I was working in the the front trunk passenger side and up under the dash. Anything I bumped or disconnected? I completely bypassed the factory amp wiring as well. My research so far indicates the PSM light is on only because the brake fluid light is on.

Suggestions on fixing this?

I got those two lights when the fuse was blown for my PSM (Fuse E9 I think). I have also read that the system is sensitive to low voltage.

The large connector on the factory amp, has a pretty large power in line, and some control signals.

Checked the PSM fuses- all were good.
Pluged the cables back into the Hays amp-brake fluid light still comes on.
Disconnected negative battery terminal and reconnected-light still comes on.

What else?

I think my issue is the fluid level electrical connection at the bottom of the reservoir. The yellow connector is broken.

Can the sensor and connector be replaced independently of the reservoir?

If I disconnect the plug, can I jump the two wires in the connector to verify this is my issue?

Just a quick question - did you clear the codes or are you assuming that the codes will clear by themselves once the problems have been resolved?

At least on my Boxster, just disconnecting and reconnecting the battery will sometimes set a code or two (A/C, IP, Airbag, who knows...) SO, any time I disconnect the battery I run through all the systems using my Durametric and clear any codes that were set... If they come back after clearing them, then, and only then, do I suspect a problem...

I cleared the codes and it comes right back on.
