Duelling exhaust with Ford Contour

Funny story. While driving home yesterday with my 11 year old son, a Ford Contour occupied by two spaghetti western-types with cowboy hats pulled up to me and began 1) revving his engine 2) peeling out 3) slowing down 4) speeding up. I saw two large exhausts on it, but otherwise it was unremarkable. It kind of unnerved me at first and then I thought it was just amusing.

As we came to a red light and stopped my obnoxious alter ego took over. I hit my gas a few times and let it puurrrrrr (man does it sound good). Cowboys were two lanes over and they began revving theirs. Cars in the middle began looking at me and then the Contour. It turned into a sympony as other cars joined in and you can see everybody laughing. Green light and Contour peels out. I calmly drive away.

My son got a kick out of the whole thing and it was actually kind of funny.

Just another day in the Boxster.

I wonder what effect all that pedal pushing had on the environment?

I am personally trying to put a ozone hole over El Paso. Maybe if I succeed, El Paso will cease to exist (insert Dr. Evil's laugh).

Good story.

You know, I enjoy doing that as well. Although I don't typically bounce the revs. But sometimes next to a Civic with the spoiler, can exhaust, and ground effects I'll give him the illusion I'm willing to race. Then, just take off normally. BTW, this can be even more fun if you know there's a cop ahead or near you that you've noticed but he hasn't.
