boxster and boxster s quarter mile
well im selling my 99 to get a 00-02 S.AND I was looking at some stats and i saw the quarter mile of the 99 and the quarter mile of the S ARE VERY CLOSE is this true 50+hp only helps that much can i even feel the diffrence when i get my S

Thats more than 5 car lengths. Not even close and most likely pulling away. 60 mph is 88' sec. do the math. What you might want to do is find a chart showing the 0 - 120 or 0 - 140 times in seconds and the difference may be huge. |
As importantly, when just tooling around town, the great torque of the S is very evident and very appreciated.
It simply is a more satisfying car to drive (to me). |

Quarter-mile times are not the correct metric for measuring the differences between the standard and S models. As mentioned, the increase in low-end torque is what most people appreciate between the two... Happy Motoring!... Jim'99 |
