Conflicting instructions

When I installed my B&M shifter, I did not grease the white plastic insert that goes inside the bushing which hold the shifter in place. The instructions did not mention greasing and they are very specific about greasing other steps involved. The 101 book mentions to grease (pg 155). I thought about greasing and then thought B&M are the experts so who am I to question. I figured maybe for some strange reason the grease would eat the plastic. Who's right? Thanks

I'd contact the manufacturer for first hand instructions...plus if they say not to, and there is a problem later, you could go back on them...as long as you get it in writing (email, etc.). Personally I can't see how grease could damage plastic (or nylon), but I could be wrong...and probably am.

I called. I was told no grease necessary.
