Sun Coast Porche will not ship small items

Hi,
I just want to vent a little, and try to deter people from purchasing from Sun Coast Porsche. I live at an APO support the Military overseas and retiree. It is shameful that a US business will not ship to an APO.

The sales rep said it was do to size restrictions. There is a size limit but the items I ordered or tried to order were: 1. Driver door pocket lid, 2. Aftermarket radio installation double din conversion, 3. red alarm clip, 4. valve steam caps

I was told these items are too large to be shipped to APO. This is a false statement, I even asked about just the drivers door lid cover.

Sun Coast Porsche obviously does not want to support our US Military overseas, so I am requesting everyone boycott there services. I

Thank You for letting me vent,
cunningr

In defense of Sun Coast... those valve steam caps weigh about 40 pounds each, and are uuuuuuge. I mean uuuuuuge. ;)

Cunningr 02-09-2018 06:35 AM

Yeah I only added those since I was paying shipping charges anyway figure I would spend a little extra. I really don't get it I had an order total of just over $400 and these guys can't figure out how to ship USPS. You can buy a large prepaid box for $20 all those items will fit, our max weight is 72 pounds, I just had a 12 foot 2 piece Surf Rod shipped over. lol

I really need a door lid cover driver side black, the part the pin goes though broke on one side sprint isn't holding properly.

Thanks for reading my rant, I don't post much but this does hit close to home all the companies that will not ship to APO.

New guy here. You might ask someone you know here in the states to purchase the items and then mail them to you in Spain.

+1 on this idea . . . or maybe find a parts source in Europe?

Sorry about the issues. I loved being stationed at Torrejon De Ardoz in Spain; it may be closed now

suncoast is one of those companies that will ONLY use ups, apparently due to past issues w usps (in their defense, there was a time when usps was losing every second parcel). i would say put the blame on the courier. i have been able to convince suncoast to use usps in the past, but it took some work.

Try Sunset Porsche they are in Portland, OR and ship USPS. I've used them several times and have always gotten exceptional service.

Torrejon closed in the 90s i am in Moron AB Spain.

Thank you all for the ears. I will try out The Oregon dealer. I understand issues with USPS, but i would rather the sales rep say that and not its to big, honesty goes a long ways and they have shipped me items in the past.

Shipping to family member would work and suggested but then i take on 2 shipment cost.

So far i havent found the door pocket lid anywhere else. I will give ebay another go.

Cant belive it broke the car is a 00 S but just broke 30K miles.

Pardon me for pointing out the obvious.

Since many of these parts might well have originated in Germany in the first place, why not just buy them in the EU directly from a local vendor, and thus save yourself the extra freight mark-up for the part to be sent to the States initially, and then the time delay to have them subsequently sent back across to you?

Suncoast or Sunset?

Next try Carnewal in Europe.

Cunningr 02-09-2018 12:42 PM

That would be sun set! The problem i have buying in europe is the exchange rate affects the end cost of the items, so have to take that into account.

MORON? No political comment. . .Go Team Moron!

I ordered from Newparts this week, got the rear plastic underpanel. They were cheaper than anyone and had free shipping. My kind of vendor!
