Replacing ignition coils
This video makes it look really simple, is there more to it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H25qLssQNxg
Also, I heard that there was an updated ignition coil from Porsche. Does anyone know where to get them? I'm replacing them in my 99 Boxster. |
It really is that simple. A bit more complex if you have to replace the O rings on the tubes. You need a special tool, that you can make yourself, to pull the tubes.

Pelican has them, part number starts with 997 instead of 996.

I replaced mine last year not too bad of a job. The new ones are thicker and come with longer bolts. Ironically, I was getting CEL so I started replacing the left side first. They all looked good, the ones on the right bank which were not throwing a CEL were cracked.
