i always thought that, if i had a red car, i would go with gold - stripes, wheels.

I'm also wondering about painting or wrapping hood in different color than body. A silver 904 with green hood is somehow stuck in my head...

Keep going!

red is dominant, lots of contrast...let's see what you came up with...how about red?

😲 if I had one of those I wouldn't care if the wheels, stripes were polka-dot purple 😀

Wow your good at that. I'm thinking the silver. Just a little lighter to match my wheels 👌

that's the thing - the black on red is pretty 'contrasty' (if that is a word); grey or gold are less aggressive but still get the message across. i like how on the newer boxsters they would 'ghost' stripes onto the cars - matt black on gloss black, matt grey on silver, light grey on white, etc. - wonder if possible on red?

Not very good but

Usually not a gold fan on cars, but I think your on to something. The pinstripe really makes the emblem pop. Maybe not the entire hood in grey, but a couple 6"-8" grey stripes (to match wheels) with gold pinstripes. To tie-in, how about gold lugs on the wheels? I forget, but do you have the gold emblems on wheels? Maybe even a red pinstripe on the outer wheel edge?

I'm thinking too much silver too. Adjusting a little. Of course I didnt fill in the silver areas but they would be solid silver.

haha JB, you change the designs faster than I can photoshop them.
I guess my picture is already outdated...

BRAN 02-17-2018 11:48 AM

JB, how about extending your stripes A LITTLE over the gap...at least like the lights, maybe even a little more...

I wonder which color you pick for the outlines. photoshop can save time :D

I kinda like your lighter masking tape outlines
Is your vinyl gray or almost beige? Looks really good with red, you should keep it. Now the only question is the outline color.

It's supposed to be silver, the color of wheels but it looks beige. I'm liking the black edging.

Unless it's easily removed, photo shop with the black soft top up ... and down, for the full effect.

With the top off Ill only have the hood to be concerned about. I'm going to use 3M vinyl wrap. "Supposed" to be able to removed.

JBauer 02-21-2018 12:13 PM

In theory and PhotoShop the double silver stripes looked good but once I started putting them on they just looked weird. Just too much 😐
Had the wrap so I'm going to finish this all the way back and when I get tired of it Ill just take it off.

Be glad when spring gets here 🙄
