Removing bose amp.
Hi!
I have done a great deal of research about aftermarket head units, speakers and amps and have decided what I am about to buy, and also decided to change all stereo components in the car, but I completly forgot to look into how the bose amp is integrated with the car itself.. Hope you can give me some input on the below questions. If I disconnect and remove the bose amp, will it: Generate faultcodes? Require anything to be rewired? Car and audio info: Boxster 986 S, 2003 Bose sub PCM with navi Bose amp with optical interface. |
The amp unplugs with a slider switch and 2 other connectors. It can be removed without throwing any codes.
Where it will throw codes is if you pull the head unit and do not short the tamper switch in the dash. I had my system replaced a while ago and still need to get into the dash to short the switch. |
Deleted wrong thread. Was wondering where it went.
