Spring Compensating plates

Are they necessary, other than adding to spring length what is their purpose? Does it make for a squeaky ride going without? Inquiring mind wants to know what would be the result of pulling the 6mm plate out of the rear.

Good question.! I've just had my springs replaced, and for some reason the garage have not fitted them on the front springs. Would rather leave them off to be honest, as don't want to loose the little rake I have.

I removed them. Other than the drop I haven’t noticed any difference. Only issue is unladen there is no centering of the spring on the top mount. Not really an issue.

I've ordered some 3mm plates, though will see what the garage say when they are open again on Monday.
