Carrera Light Wheels application
Hello Folks,
Just want to get some first hand info on our Forum members who have experienced putting in a set of 18" Carrera Wheels out of a 2012 Porsche 996. 8x18 (fr) and 10x18 (rear). The offsets are ET 50 (fr)and ET65 (rear).. what size spacers do i need for them as needed. I plan to install them on my 04 986S. I currently have 18's out of a 987S, with 57 and 43 offset and they sit just perfectly. Thank you;) |
No spacer in the front will give you the stock stance. Add 10 or so if you prefer. You will need at least 15mm inthe rear to bring them out, 25 would be better imo.

Thanks very much for the Info guys...
By Pro, I appreciate your offer of your spacers of 24mm for the rear, did you need any spacers in front for the ET 50 offset? Will let you know if i do decide to go ahead with this purchase of the wheels.. any price in mind for your spacers? Thx New Art, thanks for the info.. appreciate it. Have yourselves a prosperous and Healthy New Year !! t2 |

Here are the approved tire & wheel sizes, 18x10 ET 65 is on the list, does it really take a 20-24 mm spacer to fit right/look good? The reason I'm asking is I was looking at some other wheels that cam come either in 18x10 ET 65, or ET 40 something, and wondering which is best? |
Part of the issue is brake clearance. If those offsets are listed for an S (bigger brakes) you should be fine, though the fronts might be a little close at the 50. Try them, worse case they need a little and you get what you want/need, or they are good to go and saves you some $ for the next fun toy! I personally think if you can avoid spacers, do it. The farther out of “spec” a wheels sits on the axle causes more stress on wheel bearings/axles/suspension. If you add spacers you will most likely need longer lugs as well.

--> TÜV approved, no rubbing The "bigger" problem was the front (8J x 18, ET52, 8.20 kg): 5mm spacers, minor fender crimping and minor wheel well tweaking necessary --> TÜV approved, no rubbing |
