Don't Fix It If It Ain't Broke?
Aside from the ISM/RMS, what things on these cars do you proactively replace during maintenance intervals, rather than waiting for them to fail?
Crank Position Sensor?
Chain Ramps/Tensioners?
Other?

Many on here, myself included consider the water pump to have a 3-5 year replacement cycle.
Easier and less stressful to replace periodically than to try flushing broken pump vane fragments out of the water jacket.

Unless you see some deviation of the cams, I wouldn’t spend the time or $ on the ramps/tensioners just because. However, if I were to do the IMS I would do the tensioners then for sure, they come out anyway. Definitely water pump/coolant. And keep an eye on your PS pump, they can make a nasty mess on top of the engine if overheated. My alternator voltage regulator died on the track, so keep an eye on your charging voltage. Check your motor mount, that is a one and done for a good while, if it’s never been changed, it is most likely dead.

During the cars next service, I plan to have the motor mount changed. Even though the car has only 36K miles, I have to imagine it's toast being 20 years old. I'm getting a weird, intermittent vibration at idle, and the consensus is that it's the motor mount.
I'll have to go back through records to check the age of the water pump. IMS/RMS were done at 20K miles by the original owner as a preventative measure.

The water pump every 3-5 Years or 50k is the only preventative item I would highly recommend, because if it breaks it can be a total pain to deal with. A few other things that aren't in the owner's manual would be the transmission fluid and power steering fluid every 60k (my interval).

Coolant tank. Not a regular thing, but if it hasn’t been done.

If you do change the water pump you may want to consider replacing the thermostat and coolant. And go with a name brand water pump not a rebuilt and NO steel impeller always use the composite so you don't machine your aluminum engine block!

complete tear down?
Having owned 3 M96 powered cars, I am of the opinion that a complete engine tear down and rebuild is in order at 60,000 miles (or some unspecified number of hours). That is assuming that the engine has lasted that long. many do, some do not.

long story but currently in progress at F6I. the Two other made it to 30,000+ miles without any engine issues.
