Radio code

My battery failed last night on my '02 Boxster after stopping for petrol following a 25 mile drive. A quick jump start from AAA and a new battery sorted it but I now need my radio code which is not in the owner's book. How do get one?

Thanks

Did you check the options sticker under the front luggage compartment lid? They are sometimes (but not always) written there.

The case/cover that comes with the manuals has a mesh pocket on one of the flaps. Check that - you should have a silver card that has your 4-digit radio code.

If you don't have the card with the code - a Porsche dealer should be able to get your code using the serial number of the unit.

Thanks

I'll give both those a try and let you know how I get on

Hi,

A Dealer is likely to charge you for the code (I've seen $65 charge for this), especially if you didn't buy the car there or aren't having any other service performed. You can retrieve the code if you have the radio serial number which is on a sticker on the radio case (will need removal keys (something like $5) and slide the unit out slightly). Then take the serial # and go to: http://www.radio-code.co.uk/ follow the links for Becker and you'll get the code. Hope this helps...

I called my local dealer and they provided my radio code over the phone... twice even because I transcribed the serial number incorectly the first time. But then, who would really want to steal the radio out of a 99
