Is this the cover on top of the interior door handle?
My passenger side is all scratched up for some reason. I think I found the part but it says it doesn't fit my 04 s?

I'm talking about the black trim the accepts both the door handle pull and the longer door handle arc below it: http://www.williamscrawford.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/986-3.2-0071.jpg

That is the basic part, but if you look at the details, the one you selected: 986-555-592-00-B12, is for 1997-1999 and is unpainted, plain plastic.
Yours is the '01 and I expect it's painted black? If so, I see 986.555.592.01 A03 https://www.getporscheparts.com/oem-parts/porsche-cover-98655559201a03 A lot more money for a little black paint. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1511701960.jpg |

Rustoleum makes a black multi-surface filling primer which matches Porsche’s 9x6 interior trim black exceptionally well. Plus it’s much more durable than the factory “soft touch” finish.
Good luck :) |

Out of town at moment and will gladly check what currently is in my inventory when I have time next weekend. That said, have use a couple different rattle cans of Rustoleum primers and all were good match. Either of these should work:

PS - Been quite some time since I removed that piece on a Boxster but...
If memory serves me correctly (HA a rarity at times!) that piece requires some finesse releasing the clips correctly. Nothing catastrophic if not done 100% correct but do search the archives here for door panel removal or door speaker upgrade for details on how to do so appropriately to avoid any errors. |
